Wall Township, NJ – Round 4 of Formula DRIFT this year seemed like one disaster after another, with many drivers crashing into the wall or suffering other mechanical failures, plus the freak storm that swept through the area following the Friday qualifying session.

Though Hankook driver Conrad Grunewald had an incident with the wall himself during qualifying he was able to climb all the way to the top of the podium. “This is my first time on the podium since 2005 in Houston, which is my hometown,” he said, “I’m over the moon about it. I’m stoked…cannot wait for Seattle!”

Justin Pawlak, who finished second in Round 4 but remains the overall points leader, commented, “Conrad had one heck of a weekend and you can’t take that away from him. He didn’t make any mistakes this weekend.”

Grunewald’s win at Wall was also fitting because Hankook’s North America headquarters is in New Jersey and some of the top corporate executives came out to watch. Needless to say, they were pleased with the result.
